So, who is the mysterious "J"????
"J" is what we're calling this kiddo who's living rent-free in my abdominal cavity. It beats "critter", which is my other pet (heh-heh) name. I'm just about to enter my 17th week, and boy howdy are Kris and I both ready for it. As most of you know, I may look cute when I'm pregnant, but I certainly don't always act that cute (please don't ask K. to elaborate). Anyway, this is Number 2 for our little family, and as far as I'm concerned, the last one. I simply cannot imagine chasing after more than two kids! So far the official due date is Oct. 15, but any time after Sept. 26 that the pop-up timer goes off and says' "I'm done!" is good for me, as long as it's good for baby, too. We'll get the "official" due date at our second ultrasound on May 24.Kris didn't want to find out if it's a boy or girl, and although originally I figured I'm too much of a planner to be able to stand not knowing, the idea has tickled my fancy and we've decided to wait for the biggest surprise of our lives. I'm almost sure it's a boy, though! Either way, baby will be named something that's James-ish, after my dad. If it IS a boy, James Kristofer is the name. If it's a girl, we're still working on that one........... ;) Ideas with the first name based on James are welcome. I liked Jamelynn, but both Kris and Auntie Darcy gave it a big thumbs down.
We're going to paint the nursery a soft yellow, and pick out both boy and girl bedding and order the appropriate set after J's arrival. This one is the pick for the boy: http://store.yahoo.com/dreamtimebaby/barnyard.html
We figure the kiddo will be sleeping in a bassinet in our room for the first few months, so it's no biggie (just one of the many differences between it being your first child or a later one.... the nursery does NOT have to be perfect upon the infants arrival home, because chances are they won't see it for a long time, anyway!). Besides, I absolutely ABHOR the gender-neutral shade of mint green, and waiting for girl or boy bedding will eliminate the possibility from the color scheme (see, I really AM a planner)!
I suppose that will have to do for an update for now. I'll elaborate on the fabulous time Kris has had remodeling our master bathroom, and his discovery of how much he loves to install plumbing (NOT) another day............
Love and hugs~
C.
